And for those wishing to diet; choose only a few of the courses on offer for dinner.

Children Spouses and Family:

Family (spouse, relatives & children) are welcome to come, who are not participating in the Encounter.

Up to 2 children, 12 and under eat and stay for free
in a family unit with existing beds, when sharing with
2 adults. Children 13-17, pay 50% of sharing rate. All children over the allowed 2 per room will pay 50% of the sharing rate.

There will be quality time during the weekend with your family. There are also other facilities to cater for them:

Enjoy the Spa at The Nest; Swimming; Horse Riding; Tennis; Bowls; Mountain Biking (bring your bike or hire nearby); Drakensberg Canopy Tours; and much more.

The Veranda and Deck:

Spaciousness, relaxation, beautiful gardens and mountain views embrace you while you dine with friends, take a cup of mid-afternoon tea, or later, a sun-downer on the new pub deck.

The Pub:

A favorite evening social spot, with an English ambiance. The pub is open most of the day for refreshments.

We don’t wish rain away in Africa but on a cloudless night at The Nest the sky provides a spectacular view of the Milky Way; just right for a braai (barbecue) whilst thoroughly enjoying each others company.

Travel and transfers for regional and international visitors flying into Durban:

International travelers arriving in South Africa at either OR Tambo airport Johannesburg or Cape Town airport, will need to book a further flight to King Shaka International Airport near Durban in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal. It should be possible to include your flight to King Shaka airport in your international flight booking.

Bus transfer from King Shaka airport is being investigated  to take both regional and international participants on the 3 hour road trip to the Hotel leaving the airport at 10:30hrs on Friday 9 December. Return transport is planned for departure from The Nest at 12:30hrs on Monday 12 December arriving King Shaka airport at 15:30.

If you would like more freedom, a wide variety of car hire options are available at King Shaka airport.

Please communicate with us regarding airport transfers in advance and closer to the time to ensure a relaxed and pleasant journey. If we can assist in any other way please do contact us

We may be able to assist you to find the web sites you need to plan your travels, extending your visit to include the days and weeks before or after the Encounter.
